Turn raw fibers and hides into usable materials, then use work aids without skipping recipe and research requirements.
Reviewed build: 0.1.190.146 FULL FIXED R4 · October 26, 2026. Built against RimWorld 1.6.4871. DLC requirements are listed below.
Primitive production
Stone and bone tools at the Crafting Spot help the first colony establish its work supply. Cotton looms, tanning and finished Bio-Arbor cloth extend that supply into materials for clothing, bedding and later production. Check the item’s processing stage rather than treating raw fiber as finished cloth.
Hides and fabric
The tanning station processes raw hides into leather. Use the appropriate hand or electric loom for the listed fiber recipe, supplying power where required. Read ingredient filters and the finished material name before adding a clothing bill.
The revised Envoy Robe is a specific exception to the assumption that every hide must be tanned first: its current recipe accepts allowed raw hides as well as leather and fabric. It uses 80 of one allowed material and ten silver.
Research aids
The progression includes early work aids and later electronic research equipment. Read each aid’s required use and the research bench’s conditions. The bone research skeleton is a nearby aid, with a documented +5% research-speed benefit within three cells in the same room, subject to the strongest-aid rule.
Several skeletons do not multiply that bonus. A stored aid or a tool left on the floor is not automatically equivalent to an equipped or correctly placed one.
Check a blocked recipe
- Confirm the intended workbench and required research.
- Compare raw inputs with the material stage named by the recipe.
- Check the worker’s skill, work assignment and carried tool.
- Inspect power, ingredients, working positions and output storage.
- Review saved ingredient filters after a recipe expands its accepted materials.
