Embroidered Envoy Robe: recipe, dye & noble use

Updated October 26, 2026 · Maintained by the site team

Use a skilled fox crafter to make the revised robe from cloth, leather or raw hides at an early or advanced tailoring station.

Reviewed build: 0.1.190.146 FULL FIXED R4 · October 26, 2026. Built against RimWorld 1.6.4871. DLC requirements are listed below.

Set up the system

  1. Assign an eligible original Vulpite, V2 or recognized inherited fox crafter with Crafting 5.
  2. Use a Crafting Spot, hand tailoring bench or electric tailoring bench; the revised recipe needs no research.
  3. Supply 80 of one allowed fabric, leather or raw-hide type and ten silver.
  4. Edit old cloth-only bill filters or create a new bill for the expanded materials.
  5. Dye the main fabric through normal apparel controls and check its contrasting embroidery.

Current rules and limits

  • The current robe has base Beauty 3 and PawnBeauty +1 while worn. Ordinary quality can affect displayed item beauty.
  • Other eligible humanlike pawns can wear it. Fox-only restrictions apply to crafting.
  • Royal torso-clothing tags do not replace a title's required headwear or quality.
  • Material choice does not add stuff-based armor or insulation. Six native body sets are covered; custom alien meshes need their own visual checks.

Current recipe

Requirement R3 recipe retained in R4
Crafter Eligible original Vulpite, V2 or recognized inherited fox
Skill Crafting 5
Station Crafting Spot, hand tailoring bench or electric tailoring bench
Research None for the revised recipe
Ingredients 80 of one allowed fabric, leather or raw-hide type + 10 silver
Who can wear it Other eligible humanlike pawns as well as foxes

The fox restriction is on crafting, not universal ownership or wearing. Old saved bills can retain the original cloth-only ingredient filter, so edit that filter or add a new bill.

Beauty, color and material limits

Base item Beauty is 3 and PawnBeauty is +1 while worn. Quality can change displayed item beauty. The main cloth is dyeable with contrasting embroidery: white trim is used normally and black trim on a white robe.

The robe is non-stuff equipment with fixed armor and insulation rules. Choosing an expensive fabric or leather does not automatically add that material’s stuff-based protection.

From tribal crafting to noble clothing

The revised recipe is available without a research gate at an early Crafting Spot. Royal torso-clothing tags support its noble role, but do not replace a title’s required headwear or quality. Check the pawn’s complete clothing requirements.

Six native body sets have directional coverage. Custom alien meshes need their own visual tests; the shipped body-size coverage is not a guarantee for every third-party body.
