Craft the eleven-piece furniture set at the bonecarver's bench, then install and rotate the finished pieces.
Reviewed build: 0.1.190.146 FULL FIXED R4 · October 26, 2026. Built against RimWorld 1.6.4871. DLC requirements are listed below.
Set up the system
- Prepare the bonecarver's bench, materials and eligible crafting work.
- Choose a throne, altar, dining piece, bed, crib or research skeleton bill.
- Complete Complex Furniture for beds and crib; the crib also requires Biotech.
- Install the finished furniture and check its four directional views.
- Use Dye bedding to recolor pillows and blankets, or restore the original fabric color.
Current rules and limits
- Dye bedding consumes one dye after work completes. Restoring original color is free; bone and gold are not recolored.
- The skeleton gives +5% research within three cells of a bench in the same room, subject to the strongest-aid rule.
- Its medical benefit is +5% tending and operation speed under the documented proximity and room conditions. It does not improve surgery success or healing.
- Additional skeletons do not stack.
The eleven-piece set
- Small, medium and large skull-and-bone thrones.
- Bone altar, dining table and dining chair.
- Single bed, double bed and gold-trimmed double bed.
- Bone crib and anatomical research skeleton.
Craft the furniture at the bonecarver’s bench, then install and rotate it. The set provides four directional views. Beds and the crib need Complex Furniture; the crib also requires Biotech.
Keep the bonuses precise
For research, the skeleton must be within three cells of the bench in the same room; only the strongest research aid applies. For medical work it provides +5% tending and operation speed within three cells of the patient, with the doctor in the same room. It does not improve healing speed, medical skill or surgery success.
Additional skeletons do not stack. Place the aid to satisfy the relevant work location rather than assuming that any skeleton somewhere in the building benefits every worker.
