Choose the correct build
The reviewed archive is 0.1.190.146 FULL FIXED R4. R4 identifies companion fixes even though the assembly still reports .146. Keep the archive name and revision with your testing notes. This package was built against RimWorld 1.6.4871; the site’s 1.7 title artwork is not a compatibility guarantee.
Check the release center for approved distribution and compatibility details. The website update did not add a public mod download. A link to a development article is not a download link.
Install without mixing versions
- Back up your saves and keep the previous complete archive.
- Close RimWorld before replacing files. Replace the complete StoneTools mod folder from the intended package rather than combining files from different builds.
- Keep only one enabled Tool Progression copy. Check for duplicate local and Workshop installations.
- Follow the package’s dependency and load-order instructions. Harmony and the required DLC must be present where the enabled features depend on them.
- Restart the game, inspect the startup log, and confirm the build and options before loading a colony.
Check DLC and options
| System | Requirement or choice |
|---|---|
| Vulpite xenotypes and the bone crib | Biotech |
| Merchant Tradition and its specialist | Ideology |
| Heirloom psychic powers | Royalty, psylink and sensitivity |
| Optional material roofing | OFF by default; marked as testing |
| Smelting and lumber | Independent options; both OFF by default |
| Fishing | Uses Odyssey local fish lists when available; fallback fish otherwise |
Having a DLC installed does not bypass research, workbench, pawn-skill or material requirements. Saved player options can differ from the documented defaults.
Establish a test colony
Check food and reachable storage first. Give miners a carried pickaxe and tree workers an axe, then confirm that a basic crafting bill completes. Original Vulpite and V2 are separate starting choices. For fox colonies, review hunger, alcohol access and childcare before expanding the family.
If scenario creation fails, record whether the failure occurs before the setup windows, during generation or when the map appears. The .143 fix targets a Learning Helper cast during new-game setup; it is not proof that every setup problem is solved.
