Troubleshooting missing content

Updated October 24, 2026 · Maintained by the site team

Confirm versions and requirements

Check that the intended Tool Progression build is enabled once, its dependencies are present, and RimWorld is a supported version. Confirm any required DLC.

Check the path to the item

Look for research, workbench, material, and mod-setting requirements in the installed build. A feature described on the project website may not be included in every testing release.

Separate a conflict from a requirement

Use a backed-up test save or fresh test colony and the smallest supported mod list. Record your load order and settings. Never experiment on your only copy of a save.

Ask with enough context

Post the item name, versions, expected behavior, and checks you completed in Getting Started & Help. If it appears to be a reproducible bug, follow the bug-report guide.

Check your build.

These are introductory project notes. Your installed build’s descriptions and release notes take precedence for recipes, values, dependencies, and compatibility.
