Use the settings search to find controls and distinguish documented defaults from choices saved in your colony.
Reviewed build: 0.1.190.146 FULL FIXED R4 · October 26, 2026. Built against RimWorld 1.6.4871. DLC requirements are listed below.
Find a setting
- Open Options > Mod options > Tool Progression.
- Search for a name, description or topic such as hunger, roof, radio or tools.
- Choose a category to narrow the results; Clear removes both filters.
- Read the description and any disabled-parent note before changing the value.
- For hunger, use the 50% shortcut or restore 100% without restarting.
Defaults in the reviewed package
| Option | Documented default |
|---|---|
| Require tools for supported work | ON |
| Iron smelting | OFF |
| Lumber milling | OFF |
| Material roofing | OFF; testing system |
| Streamer features and startup offers | OFF |
| Shambler feeding | OFF |
| Hide undiscovered factions | ON |
| Visiting-trader journeys | ON |
| Heirloom talents and daily powers | ON |
| Vulpite hunger multiplier | 100% |
These values describe the current default, not a command to reset an established save. Earlier .114 notes described smelting and lumber as ON; .118 superseded those defaults.
Understand independent controls
Smelting and lumber can be chosen separately. Faction visibility, Living Factions simulation and visiting-trader journeys also have distinct purposes. Showing all factions reveals map information without granting Radio research or unlocking remote quests.
The Vulpite hunger slider runs from 25% to 200% in 5-point steps. Its 50% shortcut halves calculated food drain after other native factors. It does not change alcohol dependency, meal nutrition or every pawn’s genome.
Change and test
Read each setting’s description and any disabled-parent explanation. Back up a colony before changing its system setup, record the previous value and test one change at a time. The homepage switches are a website demonstration; they do not write game settings or edit a save.
