SUPPORT / FIND YOUR FILES

Bring the right clues.

Attach only what is relevant. Keep your original files and review copies for personal information.

1. A save from before the problem (.rws)

In RimWorld, open Options, then Open save data folder. Open the Saves folder and choose the save from just before the issue. If you can reproduce it, save a separate copy before taking the action that triggers the problem.

2. Player.log

Reproduce the problem, then copy Player.log before restarting RimWorld. A restart can replace the useful log.

  • Windows: paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios into File Explorer's address bar, then find Player.log.
  • Linux / Steam Deck desktop mode: look in the RimWorld folder under ~/.config/unity3d/Ludeon Studios/.
  • macOS: in Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder. Look for the latest Player.log under ~/Library/Logs/Ludeon Studios/ or ~/Library/Logs/Unity/.

Folder names can vary by RimWorld version. The in-game save-folder button is the best starting point for saves and configuration files.

3. A screenshot

Use your computer's screenshot tool to capture the error, affected pawn or item, and relevant game settings. Save it as a PNG, JPG or WebP, then choose it under Attach files. Crop out unrelated windows and personal information.

4. ModsConfig.xml

Use Options > Open save data folder, open Config, then copy ModsConfig.xml. This helps identify enabled mods and their load order. You can also paste your mod list into the form.

Ready to attach

Close this window, choose Attach files, and select your copies. Use Ctrl (Windows/Linux) or Command (Mac) to select multiple files. Up to 4 files, 25 MB each and 50 MB total. If needed, ZIP only the relevant saves, logs, configuration and images.

Files are optional. They are stored privately and only site administrators can download them.
