Farming, orchards and Bio-Arbor
Build a reliable food plot first, then add orchards and researched Bio-Arbor cultivars.

Work a normal field
- Create a growing zone and choose its crop. Keep sowing enabled.
- Assign Growing work and provide a hoe. Use Plow field on the pawn or Orders > Till ground.
- Use Plant field for that zone and check season, temperature, light and Plants skill.
- If you have fertilizer, use Fertilize field on tilled, untreated ground. Fertilizer is optional.
- When crops are ready, use Harvest field or the normal Harvest order. A sickle helps supported harvesting.
Finish one stage before assigning the next. A new field assignment replaces that pawn’s previous one.
Plant seeds and saplings
Get planting stock from suitable traders, discoveries or eligible harvests. Research unlocks planting and processing but does not supply seeds. Fruit and nuts are food, separate from seed and sapling items.
- Finish the relevant research, such as Bio-Arbor basics, GMO cultivation or Mutagenic forestry.
- Drop and allow a matching seed or sapling, select it and use Plant seeds.
- Mark suitable clear ground and assign a grower with the required skill and an allowed route.
- Check the plant’s individual biome, light, temperature and DLC requirements.
Keep the plant alive
Harvesting preserves a regrowing plant; chopping removes it. Use its Automatic harvest control where available. Seed returns and mutation are chances, not guaranteed schedules. Mutagenic treatment affects new seeds rather than transforming the planted parent.
Keep quick crops growing while trees mature. Ordinary wild apple and hazelnut trees have especially long base growth cycles. Existing maps are not filled retroactively with new discoveries, so traders are useful.
